Olivia Lancashire

Olivia Lancashire is an Elon University Alumni with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. As a sophomore, she was awarded the Lumen Prize, which involved a $20,000 grant to conduct her proposed research. Since then, she has been investigating the relationship between Christian perspectives on hell and religious trauma.

Through her work, Olivia has developed a deep passion for helping individuals heal from adverse religious experiences. She is committed to culturally competent, evidence-based, and holistic approaches, recognizing that religious trauma affects far more than the mind and body—it touches every aspect of a person’s life.

Her mission is to advance research in religious trauma to ensure that future clinicians—including herself—are well-equipped to address it effectively. She is currently working on her masters degree to become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at the University of San Diego, where she plans to continue her work at the intersection of research and clinical practice. Additionally, she is serving as a Graduate Assistant for Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention in the Center for Health and Wellness Promotion at USD. Looking ahead, Olivia hopes to expand her work to address a wide range of experiences that impact mental health and holistic well-being.
